ObituaryOct 1, 2001  OBITUARY: RUTLAND, VT – Lloyd G. McCullough, 74, died Sept. 29, 2001, unexpectedly at his home.

Mr. McCullough was born in Proctor, the son of Eugene and Anna (Nelson) McCullough.

He and his wife, Iola (Balcom) celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 12.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II on the USS Barnett. He was a member of American Legion Post 31 in Rutland, VFW Post 7823 in Middlebury, and St. Paul’s Lodge 25, F & AM in Brandon, and was past master of Otter Creek Lodge 70, F & AM in Pittsford.

He worked for Howe Richardson Scale for 38 ½ years and retired from General Electric in 1990.

He enjoyed hunting and especially ice fishing and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Iola, of Rutland; his stepmother, Edna McCullough of Florida; one son, Brian McCullough, and his wife, Carol, of Danbury, Conn; one daughter, Janice, and her husband, John Tower, of New Milford, Conn; four grandsons, John Tower and his fiancée, Danielle Senecal, of Topsham, Maine, Robert Tower of Brattleboro, Bradley McCullough and Shawn McCullough of New Milford, Conn; two step-grandsons, Brian Travis and Scott Travis of North Carolina; a brother, Leslie McCullough and wife, Lois, of Proctor; three sisters, Doris and her husband, Elmer Kennedy, of Fair Haven, Mass; Patricia McCullough of St. Albans; and Beverly and her husband, Stanley Woodacre, of Bradenton, Fla; a stepsister, Edith, and her husband, Howard Koster, of Port Charlotte, Fla; a sister-in-law, Bertha McCullough of Rutland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert McCullough, during the Korean War, and William McCullough.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford. Committal services will follow in Evergreen Cemetery In Pittsford.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford from 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m.
