ObituaryFeb 23, 2013  OBITUARY: Clarence E. Maker, 84, of Newport, VT passed away February 22, 2013 in Newport, VT. He was born June 9, 1928 in Lowell, MA a son of Alan and Gertrude (Arland) Maker. He married Cecile Young who predeceased him.

He entered the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WW11. During his lifetime he was a machine operator for Ethan Allen, MFG and he was also a truck driver.

Clarence was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 798, the American Legion Post 21 of Newport, VT, and he attended the Meeting Place in Newport, VT. His hobbies included hunting, and gardening. He always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by his daughter Susan Powell of Asheville, North Carolina, by his granddaughter Kayla Bernier also of Asheville, North Carolina, his foster son Dennis Fields State Representative of Sanbornton, NH, and by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on May 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the East Haven Cemetery, East Haven, VT with full military honors.
