ObituaryJul 17, 1998  OBITUARY: SHARON – The funeral service for John O. Boles, 65, who died Tuesday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., will be held Saturday, July 18, 1998 at 2 p.m. at the Tunbridge Congregational Church. The Rev. David W. Wright, pastor of Beth-El Christian Fellowship Church in South Royalton, will officiate. Burial will take place at the Branch View Cemetery in South Royalton.

He was born July 3, 1933, in South Royalton son of John I and Elizabeth (Rowell) Boles.

Mr. Boles attended South Royalton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.

Mr. Boles delivered grain and worked at the Eastern States Farmers Exchange store in South Royalton. Later he worked for Howard Sober Inc. and C. and J. Transport, both in Sharon; and for the Agway stores in South Royalton and White River Junction until recently.

He was married to Marilyn J. Barnaby of Tunbridge. They lived in South Royalton and Tunbridge. He later made his home with Matt and Shirley Boles in North Tunbridge and in Sharon.

He enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes.

Survivors include four daughters, Susan V. Mattern of Enfield, N.H., Sheila Boles Blaisdell of Tunbridge, Sandra E.C. Boles of Brighton, Colo., and Shelley L. Adams of Chelsea; a son, Stuart F.J. Boles of Tunbridge; seven brothers, Leslie I. Boles, Frank H. Boles, Alexander E. Boles and Donald E. Boles, all of South Royalton; Robert E. Boles of East Bethel, Matthew B. Boles of Sharon and Ernest C. Boles of Royalton; a sister, Gena R. Britch of North Tunbridge; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Louise Churchill.
