ObituaryFeb 29, 2016  OBITUARY: Southbridge: Cora A. (Bullard) Wedge, 95, of Bruce Lane, passed away on Monday, Feb. 29th, in her home after a long illness.

Her husband, Creighton H. Wedge, died in 2001, and her son, James C. Wedge, died in 2008. She leaves her daughter, Nancy B. Allard and her husband Peter of Southbridge; her grandchildren, Timothy Allard and his wife Diana Acero-Allard of Salt Lake City, UT and Christopher Allard of Miami, FL, Colleen Allard of Kansas, Maggie Allard of Southbridge and Kenny Allard of Southbridge; her close in-laws, Rose Allard of Southbridge and her son Tom Allard and his wife Diane of Southbridge. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Albert Bullard, Willard Bullard and Russell Bullard and her sister, Dorothy Delisle. She was born in East Ryegate, VT, the daughter of George and Florence (Church) Bullard.

Cora was a 1938 graduate of Woodville High School, Woodsville, NH and she went on to graduate from the Bright Look School of Nursing, Johnsbury, VT, in 1942.

Cora worked as a registered nurse at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge for 44 years. During her career she worked in every department of the hospital and retired as a nursing supervisor. After retiring for many years she volunteered taking blood pressures at senior centers in Southbridge, Sturbridge and Webster. She was also a long time volunteer at the voting poles in Southbridge. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Southbridge, serving as a greeter and was a member of its St. Rita's Society. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She enjoyed reading and square dancing. She also enjoyed traveling, especially traveling with her family to Wells Beach, ME. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, March 3rd, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge, will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd, from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. John Paul II Parish, 279 Hamilton St., Southbridge or to the Central MA Hospice, 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, MA 01501.
