ObituaryAug 31, 1996  OBITUARY: Son of William Alling and Adelaide Fralick. Gordon (Lee) Alling of Brewster, a former supervisor for United Elastic Corp. of Littleton, died Friday in Cape Cod Hospital. He was 77.

Mr. Alling was born in Springfield, raised and educated in Littleton, and attended the University of Lowell.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He worked for United Elastic for more than 30 years as superintendent of manufacturing and shipping. From 1967 to 1969 he worked in Belgium as the company set up a new plant.

In the early 1970s he went to work for Moore Fabrics, a division of Johnson & Johnson. He later worked for William Wright Co. in West Warren, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of the Tahattawon Lodge of Littleton, the Ida McKinley Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Captain's Golf Course in Brewster.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Althea (Garrow); two daughters, Sandra L. Valentine of Pepperell and Jamie S. Sullivan of Shirley; a brother, Francis W. of Nashua; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. in Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans. Burial will be in Brewster Cemetery.
