ObituarySep 8, 2016  OBITUARY: Sherman Roger Warren, of Palm City, Fla., passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 18 2016, at the age of 90.

He was born in Barnet, Vt., on April 3, 1926, one of nine children born to Carl and Violet Warren. He was predeceased by all siblings and parents.

Sherman worked several jobs before enlisting into the Navy Seabees during WWII in 1945. After the war he was employed by A&P grocers. He married his wife Thea Ward in October of 1950. He later would purchase the Willoughby diner on Eastern Avenue in 1958 and have it moved to its current location on Portland Street. Naming it the Talk of Town Diner. Sherm was an excellent cook and, by all accounts, a great host "Congenial," "Nice Guy," "Never an empty coffee cup" were the words people used to describe Sherm. Sherman and Thea would run that diner 'til they closed it in 1969. Sherman would then start a new business Talk of Town Snack Wagon which he would run out of his home in St J Center for the next 25 years.

On the weekends, Sherm was also a auctioneer and would later take over his family business and continue his fathers legacy for many years. He would also serve as the president of the Vt. Auctioneers Association in the 1970s. Sherm was an avid square dancer and woodworker. Thea and Sherm moved to Stuart, Fla., in October of 1996 where they would live out their retired years. Sherm enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and family often telling funny stories of the past. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile and giggle. He spent his remaining years, living with his daughter Tracy.

Sherman was predeceased by his wife, Thea of 65 years, and a son, Donald Warren.

Sherman Warren is survived by his daughter Tracy Kilinski and husband Joseph of Palm City, Fla., and grandchildren Zachary (Kay) Lambert, and Ashley (Michael) Jones, of Auroa, Colo; son, Scott Warren and wife Michelle of East Burke, Vt., and grandchildren Rebecca and Cody Warren of St. Johnsbury, Vt; and great-grandchildren, Avery Jones and Cortlynn Lambert.

Sherm and Thea will be laid to rest in September at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
