ObituaryMar 24, 2011  OBITUARY: Fairhaven, Massachusetts - Arthur E. "Artie" Forrester, 72, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, March 19, 2011, at his home. He was the husband, of 48 years, of Priscilla A. Pat (Bertrand) Forrester.

Born, in Whitefield, New Hampshire, the son of the late Thornton H. and the late Margaret (Audette) Forrester, he grew up, in Littleton, NH, entered the Navy when he was 17 years old and settled, in Fairhaven, in the late 1960s.

Artie served in the U.S. Navy for, 15 years, as a signalman and a M.P. on the U.S.S. Saratoga.

He loved the ocean, discussing politics and was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Laurie A. Viera, of Acushnet; and Stacey Forrester Rebelo, of Fall River; four sons: Scott A. Forrester, of Chestnut Hill; Stephen E. Forrester, of Dartmouth; Larry A. Forrester, of Wrentham; and Thornton H. "T.H." Forrester, of Mattapoisett; a brother; Terry Forrester, of Rome, GA; two sisters: Barbara Davies, of Attleboro; and Phyllis Huntley, of Wareham; 17 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Artie was the brother of the late Richard and Henry Forrester.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and memorial calling hours will be, Thursday, from 5-8 PM, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven.

A graveside service with military honors will be held, Friday, at 10:00 AM, in St. Patricks Cemetery, in Wareham.
