ObituaryOct 28, 2002  OBITUARY: BAKERSFIELD ­ Mary Jane Bouchard, age 78, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Oct. 27, 2002, at her home. She was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Northfield, the daughter of the late Norman and Marie Anne (Fortin) Messier.

She was a resident of Bakersfield for the past 43 years and was a former resident of Northfield. She was a member of St. George's/St. Anthony's Catholic Church in East Fairfield, and a former member of St. John's Catholic Church in Northfield. She was also a member of the Fairfield/Bakersfield Senior Meal Site Program.

She was the beloved mother of five children: Laura Gervais and her husband, Bruce, of St. Albans; Lucille Bouchard and her fiancé, Jerry Regan, of New Athens, Ill; Teresa Bouchard, of Bakersfield, Marcel Bouchard and his wife, Martina, of Walthourville, Ga., and Rita Salls and her husband, Victor, of St. Albans. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, Arthur Messier of Plainsville, Conn., Leo Messier of Barre, Arlene Roux and her husband Robert of Websterville, Fla./Williamstown, and Albert Messier and his wife Normande of Northfield; five grandchildren, Kerry and Corey Salls, Patrick Routhier, and Bianca and Henry Bouchard; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolland H. Bouchard; and a grandson, Victor Anthony Salls.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 at St. Anthony's/St. George's Catholic Church in East Fairfield with Rev. Joseph Sullivan celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. George's Cemetery in Bakersfield.

Visiting hours will be held today, Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
