ObituaryMay 28, 2013  OBITUARY: ENOSBURGH CENTER – Shirley Jean Nutting, age 73, passed away on Monday May 27, 2013 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born February 12, 1940 in Berkshire the daughter of the late James W. & Marion A. (Wetherby) Thompson. Shirley married Herbert G. Nutting Sr. on July 25, 1956. Shirley & Herb resided in West Chesterfield, NH and had worked as an Inspector for American Optical in Brattleboro before moving to back to Enosburgh Center in 1981 to care for her parents and other family members and most recently helping to care for her cherished mother-in-law, Cecile Nutting. She enjoyed photography, sewing, fishing, camping & bottle digging. Most importantly she loved having her children & grandchildren around. She was a former member & treasurer of the Eagles Club in Brattleboro. She is survived by her children, James Nutting and his wife Cindy of Keene, NH, Lisa Bergeron and her husband Thomas of Highgate, Deborah Aldrich and her fiancé, Ron Fuller of Enosburgh Center, Walter Nutting and his girlfriend Kathy Venturella of Spring Hill, FL, and Herbert G. Nutting Jr. and his wife Vicki of Enosburgh Center; 14 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Parker of Plattsburgh, NY and brother-in-law Earl Parker of Chazy, NY; her brothers, Robert Thompson & Norman Thompson and his wife Linda all of Enosburgh; her mother-in-law, Cecile (Ryea) Nutting of Enosburgh Center; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband Herbert G. Nutting Sr. on March 7, 2008; her grandson, Hunter Nutting in 2009 and her brothers, Roger James Thompson & Roger Lee Thompson. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the Enosburgh Center Cemetery. A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
