ObituaryJan 21, 1998  OBITUARY: Roger A. Labor, 72, of 146 Seventh St., Turners Falls, died Tuesday at a Greenfield nursing home. He was a truck driver for Matusko Trucking Co. of North Amherst for many years, and retired in 1980. Born and schooled in Athol, he lived in Turners Falls resident for 20 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, and served in the North African and European theaters. He was a lifetime member of Coutu-Murphy Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 923 of Turners Falls. His wife, the former Mary Pratt, died in 1981, and a son, Alan Labor, in 1994. He leaves five other sons, Roger A., David, and Richard of Salemburgh, N.C., and Roger A. Jr. and Eugene of Athol; two daughters, Sherry Fann of Salemburgh, and Patricia Eisenbach of Long Island, N.Y; three stepsons, Robert Baker of Amherst, Brinton A. Baker Jr. of Greenfield, and Donald E. Baker of Gill; five stepdaughters, Nancy Jackson of Montague City, Elaine Brosway of Bernardston, Linda Coy of Greenfield, Carol Maynard of Pelham, and Marie Sabassco of Hadley; a sister, Virginia Thomasello of Barre; 33 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A calling hour will precede the funeral Friday morning at Kostanski Funeral Home of Turners Falls, with the burial at North Amherst Cemetery in Amherst. Memorial contributions may be made to Coutu-Murphy VFW Post 923, 109 Ave. A, Turners Falls, 01376.
