ObituaryNov 26, 2008  OBITUARY: RICHFORD – George W. LeClair, Jr., 67, a resident of Mullen Avenue in Richford died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 25, surrounded by his loving family. George was born on May 25, 1941 in East Berkshire, the son of George W. and Muriel (Minckler) LeClair. He attended school in Berkshire Center and was married to Arlene Hoague on January 15, 1962. George had worked as a farmer, truck driver, logger, mechanic and carpenter throughout his lifetime. He leaves a large number of family members and friends and will be greatly missed by all of them. Surviving are George’s wife, Arlene (Hoague) LeClair of Richford; his mother Muriel LeClair of Orleans; his children Vanka Morse and her husband David of Newport, William LeClair and his wife Celine of St. Albans, Mary Hamilton and her husband John of Port Henry, NY, Jeffrey LeClair and Amy Sweet of Highgate, Peggy Sue LeClair of Richford, Steven LeClair and his wife Christy of Richford and Hope Sweet and her husband Richard of East Enosburg; a brother Douglas LeClair of Newport Center; 4 sisters Helen Haile of West Burke, Theresa Fortin of Bakersfield, Donna Prue of Sutton, VT and Margaret Gilman of Derby; 28 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his father, George was predeceased by 2 sons Richard LeClair in 1986 and George LeClair, III in 1991; 2 grandchildren Harley Burns and Alyssa LeClair and 2 brothers Fred and Larry LeClair. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 28 at 10:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home in Richford with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the LeClair family lot at Hillside Cemetery in Richford. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Should friends desire, gifts in George’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
