ObituaryMar 15, 2010  OBITUARY: Pauls Valley -- Sam Ray Lambert of Pauls Valley passed away March 12, 2010 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years. He was born September 6, 1945 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Rev. Samuel James and Cassie (Owens) Lambert.

Sam graduated from Lexington High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman at the U.S. Embassy in Saigon during the 1968 Tet Offensive.

Sam loved people, and nobody he met remained a stranger. He made his home in Pauls Valley, working in grocery stores, for the Department of Corrections and most recently, Clowns for Christ Ministries.

Sam married Carrie Evans on October 2, 1992 in Gainesville, Texas. A committed Christian, he loved singing in church and has been attending New Life United Pentecostal Holiness Church.

An avid sports fan, Sam played softball for several years, later umpiring Little League games at Wacker Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife, Judy (DeHart) Lambert; an infant son, Stoney; brothers, DeWitt, Thomas and Hansel Lambert; and sisters: Christine Woods, Edith McElhaney and Oleta Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie of the home; two sons: Jeffrey, also, of the home, and Chris Lambert and his wife, Wendy, of Oklahoma City; two step sons: David Fenimore of Pauls Valley and Timothy Fenimore of El Reno; five grandchildren: Hannah Schoonmaker and Brooks Lambert of Oklahoma City, Gabriel Reyes of Alex, and Dawson Fenimore and Kaelynn Fenimore, both of Moore; a brother, Charles Maddux of Yukon; two sisters: Marie Beaty of Pauls Valley and Joyce Woods and her husband, John, of Norman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Bro. Robert Adams and Bro. Ronnie Beaty. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
