ObituaryMar 1, 2007  OBITUARY: Gloria M. Tansey, 68, died Feb. 28, 2007, at her home. She was the daughter of George Allen and Gerldine A. (Lounge) Husband Sr.
She graduated from Windsor High School in 1957. On June 11, 1960, she married William J. Tansey in Windsor.

Mrs. Tansey was employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and the Covered Bridge Credit Union, both in Windsor, before becoming assistant town clerk in Windsor for five years and being elected town clerk in Windsor for 15 years.

She was a Paul Harris Fellow of the Windsor Rotary Club and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Windsor Booster Club and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor.

She was a fund-raiser for several local causes. Mrs. Tansey enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Survivors include her husband of Windsor; four sons, Patrick Tansey of Middletown Springs, John Tansey of Windsor, Michael Tansey of Grovetown, Ga., and Joseph Tansey of San Francisco, Calif; a daughter, Maureen Tansey of Hadley, Mass; five brothers, William Husband, Robert Husband, Roland Husband, all of Windsor, Roger Husband of Stephen City, Va., and Laurel Husband of Morrisville, N.Y; eight grandchildren, a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Ann Husband and a brother, George Husband Jr.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. The Rev. Gerald Boulanger was the celebrant.

Burial will be at a later date in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Windsor.
