ObituaryJan 24, 2014  OBITUARY: WILLIAMSVILLE - Robert 'Bob' S. St. Pierre, Sr. passed away unexpectedly at his home on Jan. 14, 2014.

He was born in St. Albans on Feb. 8, 1938, to Frank Medor St.Pierre and Mary Rose (Chennette) St.Pierre. He moved to Williamsville in 1950 where he resided for 64 years. Bob graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1958 and then went on to join the United States Navy where he served two terms aboard the submarine USS Albacore. He later went to Hobart School of Welding where he became a certified welder. He was employed by Vermont Yankee until he retired in 1999.

After completing his first term with the Navy, he returned to Williamsville, where he met his wife Jane. They were married shortly after, on Nov. 9, 1965.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and ice fishing trips to Lake Champlain with his wife and kids. He enjoyed gardening and spending time on his woodlot cutting wood. He spent countless hours spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored, going fishing, four wheeling, strawberry and apple picking, gardening and attending sports activities and school functions.

He is survived by his children Robert St.Pierre, Jr. and his wife Julie, of Townshend, Rebecca Jarvis of Newfane, and Holly Ridley of Naples, Fla; four grandchildren, Chayse Jarvis and Avarie Fitzpatrick of Newfane, Gaige Astley of Newfane, and Austin Ridley of Jacksonville, Fla., and two great-grandchildren, Macie Brasel and Jackson Kelce, both of Florida, three sisters, a brother and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years Jane Elinor (Richmond) St.Pierre; by his daughter, Melissa Lee St.Pierre Astley, and a granddaughter, Madison Greer Gallops.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of life will be Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 54 Chickering Drive, Brattleboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newbrook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Newfane, Vt.
