ObituaryOct 13, 1954  OBITUARY: Alfred Gagnon, husband of Mrs. Eva (Champagne) Gagnon, died last night, October 12, 1954, at his home, 116 Martin Street, Lowell, after a long illness. He was 62. Born in Canada, he was the son of the late Joseph and Olive (Handel) Gagnon. Mr. Gagnon was employed as a loomfixer by the Merrimack Mfg. Co. for many years, but until his retirement a year and a half ago, he was a proprietor of a variety store on Textile Avenue. He was an attendant of Ste. Jeanne d’Arc Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society of that parish.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Labbe, Miss Irene Gagnon, Mrs. Rita Hammond and Mrs. Therese Duquette, all of Lowell; seven sons, Romeo Gagnon, Omer Gagnon, Armand Gagnon, Edgar Gagnon, Lucien Gagnon, Girard Gagnon and Henri Gagnon, all of Lowell; one sister, Mrs. Flavie Gagnon of Johnville, Canada; three brothers, Narcisse Gagnon of Carthby, Canada; Joseph Gagnon of Val’Alain, Canada, and Emile Gagnon of Lowell; 30 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
