ObituaryAug 8, 2000  OBITUARY: Betty Jean (Corey) Austin, 64, of Pudding Hill in Lyndonville, died August 7, 2000 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 24, 1935 in Danby, the daughter of John and Edna Corey.

Betty attended Danby schools and graduated from Jeanne Mance School of Nursing in Burlington. She worked in the nursing profession for many years both in hospitals and nursing home facilities. Betty was most happy working in her beautiful flower gardens, watching the birds, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was a kind and caring person who was always doing for others. The love and memories she has given to her family will remain with us always; she will be forever missed.

She leaves her husband of fifteen years, James Austin of Lyndonville (1739 Little Egypt Rd. 05851); two sons, Jeffrey Keyworth and wife, Lisa of Lyndonville, and Todd Keyworth and wife, Lisa of Colchester; two daughters, Leslie Keyworth and fiancé, David Hills of Middlebury and Lisa Courcy of South Burlington. She also leaves four stepchildren: Sam Austin and wife, Wendy of Lyndonville, Neal Austin and wife, Shari of Lyndonville; Dan Austin of Lyndonville, Rick Austin and wife, Chelle of Topsham, Maine; twelve very special grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Sylvia Cramer and husband, Robin of West Pawlet, Meg Gardner and husband, Bill of Poultney, Alice Reed and husband, Ken of Wells, and Barbara Harrington of West Pawlet; one brother, Robert Corey and his wife, Millie of Pawlet; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Corey of Pawlet, and Laura Corey of Danby; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Violet ""Sue", and two brothers, Charles ""Chub" and John.

Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Guibord Funeral Home. The Rev. Brendan Hadash will officiate. There will be no visiting hours.
