She was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Charlotte, the daughter of Earnest and Eda (Grapatin) Tricell.
She graduated from Beeman Academy in 1939 and Castleton State College in 1941.
She married Melvin Bushey on Nov. 7, 1943. He died in 1971.
Mrs. Bushey taught in a one - room schoolhouse in West Ferrisburgh from 1943 to 1945, retiring to be a full - time wife and mother.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes.
Survivors include five sons, Paul Bushey, Anthony Bushey, Wayne Bushey, all of Vergennes, Dale Bushey of Addison and Kyle Bushey of New Haven; three daughters, Lynn Fuller of Marshfield, Wis., Becky LaBerge of Vergennes and Deborah McCann of Springfield; 18 grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Tricell; three sisters, Ardelia Mack, Elsie Elmio and Ellen Vincent; two grandchildren and a great - grandson.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes. Burial will take place in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown - McClay Funeral home in Vergennes.
