He retired from the Red Clay Consolidated School District as the director of elementary education. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Eltheda; daughters Joanne Dorak, Moore Haven, and Marnie O'Grady, Middletown, DE; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one step-grandchild. He will be interred in the Middletown, DE, VA Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce Chapel East, Ocala.
