He was born August 20, 1936, in St. Albans, a son of Adelbert and Evelyn (Domina) Longley.

On April 7, 1984, he married Brenda Zapor who survives him.

In 1956, Mr. Longley served in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was a truck driver for Starr's Transportation in North Troy for several years. His hobbies included fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Longley, of North Troy; by his two children: Wayne Longley Jr. and his wife, Megan, of Jay, and Stacy Royea and her husband, Nicholas, of North Carolina; by a grandson, Blake; by his brother Tom Lowell and his wife, Fran, of Connecticut; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley and Linda Brousseau.

Funeral services were held on February 17 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport. Interment with full military honors will be held in the spring in the North Troy cemetery.
