ObituaryNov 27, 2011  OBITUARY: ROSANNA H. WESCOTT, 94, died early Friday morning, Nov. 25, 2011, in the Birchwood Terrace Healthcare in Burlington, VT.

Rosanna was born on April 10, 1917, in Swanton, the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Bohannon) Hoague.

On June 1, 1939, she married Leon O. Wescott and together lived in the Islands for over 49 years. Rosanna and Leon were known for their annual garage sales on U.S. 2 in Grand Isle.

Rosanna was a great cook and will always be remembered for her cookies and popcorn balls which she would make and send during the holidays. She loved her flowers and gardening, and was an excellent seamstress.

Mrs. Wescott is survived by her children, Ralph Wescott of Essex, Laura Harris and her husband, Rodney, of Grand Isle, Mary Lopez and her husband, Rudy, of Benson, AZ, Leon Wescott Jr. and his wife, Emily of Colchester, and Virginia Vincent and her husband, Paul, of Grand Isle; sister-in-law, Virginia Wescott of Essex Center; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Wescott Sr. on March 11, 1993; and by her daughter, Lillian Louise Tourville in 1988.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will follow in the South Hero Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
