Mclaren Jr., 63, formerly of Pittsford died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in Jupiter, FL, where he has resided for the last several years, with his children at his side. He was born on January 15, 1949, in Colchester,VT, the son John Sr. and Barbara (Garrow) Mclaren. John was employed for over 30 years at GE in Rutland, and was well-known for his abilities as an auto mechanic. He enjoyed playing golf and snowmobiling, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Moose and Eagles Club. He is survived by a son Eric Mclaren of Florence; two daughters, Joanne Mclaren of Brandon, and Becky Litchfield of Fort Edward, N.Y; three grandchildren, Zachary Mclaren, Hailey Litchfield, and Riley Paris; 10 siblings, Patricia Jones of Rutland, James Mclaren of West Rutland, Harland Mclaren of Jupiter, FL, Joyce Humphrey of Shrewsbury, Terry and Jerry Mclaren, both of Rutland, Jay Mclaren, Mary Bell, and Pauline Morris, all of Rutland, and Paul Mclaren of West Rutland. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister Judy Hawkins. Family and friends may call at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford on Monday, December 3, 2012, from 12 noon until 1 p.m., with a memorial service to be held at 1 p.m. A reception for family and friends will follow at St. Alphonsus Church Hall in Pittsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to the Foley Cancer Center, R.R.M.C., 160 Allen Street, Rutland, VT 05763.
