ObituarySep 28, 2001  OBITUARY: CHARLESTOWN, N.H. -- Nancy E. Spaulding, 59, died peacefully Thursday morning at the Sullivan County Home in Unity after a long illness.

She was born in Hanover on Dec. 6, 1941, a daughter of Norman E. and Kate (Read) Wilder.

She was raised in Plainfield and attended school in Plainfield, graduating from Windsor (Vt.) High School. She married Gordon F. Spaulding on Feb. 21, 1959. They lived in Plainfield until moving to Windsor in 1968 and then to Charlestown in 1974. Mr. Spaulding died in 1994.

Mrs. Spaulding was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother; her children and family were most important to her, their care and well being was her first priority.

She was a member of the Windsor Area Jaycee Jaynes for several years, and was a longtime member of the Plainfield Community Church in Plainfield. She enjoyed knitting and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include her mother, Kate Wilder Gauthier of Plainfield; four daughters, Sharon L. Freyenhagen of Brattleboro, Vt., Linda Tenney of Charlestown, Diane Nash of North Walpole, and Norma Spaulding of Charlestown; one son, Fred Spaulding of Charlestown; one sister, Beverly Wilder Widger of Plainfield; three stepsisters, one stepbrother, nine grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral. Home in Windsor this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Plainfield Community Church in Plainfield. Burial will follow in the Plainfield Cemetery.
