ObituaryJun 27, 1997  OBITUARY: Newell Andrew Peryer, 81, died Thursday, June 26, 1997, at Eden Park Nursing Home, Rutland, VT, after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 30, 1915, in Rutland, son of Herbert and Mae (Joy) Peryer.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

A lifetime resident of Rutland, Mr. Peryer had been employed by the H.P. Welch Co. for 32 years prior to his retirement.

He was a 50-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1001, a life member of Loyal Order of Moose 1122, and a member of American Legion Post 31 and Internal Teamsters Retiree Chapter Local 597.

Survivors are his wife, Florence Beaudry Peryer, whom he married Nov. 15, 1936; two daughters, Patricia Generess of Rutland and Elaine Dydo of West Rutland; a half-sister, Gladys Peryer of Springfield, Mass.: two half-brothers, Roland Peryer of Springfield, Mass. And Sherwin Ayers of Granville, NY; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Aldous Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eden Park Nursing Home Activities Fund, in care of Eden Park Nursing Home, Allen Street, Rutland, VT 05701.
