ObituaryJan 18, 2016  OBITUARY: Williston/Winooski - Clayton Roger Langlais, 91, passed away on January 17, 2016 at the VT Respite House in Williston after an heroic yearlong battle with cancer.

Born in Burlington, VT on October 21, 1924 to Hildevert and Rose Anna (Bisaillon) Langlais, he was educated in Winooski Schools.

Clayton proudly served his country with the Merchant Marines during World War II aboard the U.S.A.T. LAKEHURST. He also served in the Army Transport Service. He was awarded the Presidential Testimonial Letter signed by President Harry S. Truman and the Honorable Service button. Upon his discharge he worked in the Mills, St. Michaels College in charge of supplies, and the Winooski VFW as a bartender and club historian. His knowledge of date and events was truly amazing.

Clayton is survived by his sister Rose Aline Bilodeau and her husband John. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by his longtime friends Mary Picard and Steve Woodworth who loved Clayton very much. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Lorrraine McGrath, and his brothers Donald, Ralph and Bernard.

The family would like to thank the staff and Volunteers at the Vermont Respite House for the love, care and support they provided to Clayton and family, especially in these final days. Words cannot express how greatful we are to all of you.

A celebration of Clayton's life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a service to be held at 10:30 a.m. with Post Chaplan Craig LaVigne officiating at the Winooski VFW with a reception to follow. Clayton will be laid to rest with his parents and sister. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request you make a donation in Clayton's memory to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495 to thank them for the love and tenderness they provided to Clayton.
