ObituaryJan 2, 2011  OBITUARY: Ezra James Mulheron, age 90 years, a lifelong Swanton resident died Friday afternoon, December 31, 2010, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston with loving family by his side.

Born in Swanton on November 30, 1920, he was the son of the late Ezra Sr. and Ella (Lashway) Mulheron.
He received his elementary education from the former Saint Anne's Academy and graduated in June of 1941 from Swanton High School. He played high school hockey and was known by his friends as "Zing: for his fast skating ability. On August 24, 1949, he married the former Lorraine Begnoche who survives him. Ezra was a Master Electrician, working many years for General Dynamics, Union Carbide Corporation and lastly IBM. He and his wife Lorraine have wintered for the past 23 years in Deland Florida.

Ezra faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during World War II. He enlisted in Montpelier, Vermont on June 29 1942 and received his basic training on Paris Island in S. Carolina. As the War continued he was transferred overseas and served at the Guadalcanal, Guam, Okinawa and Tsingtao, China until Japan surrendered. He received his honorable discharge on January 12, 1946 and immediately returned home to Swanton.

In addition to his wife Lorraine of 61 years, he leaves, his daughter, Brenda Holiday and husband David of Plattsburg, NY; two sons, Ezra Mulheron Jr. and companion Eleanor Casey of Huntington and James Mulheron and his wife June of Westford; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Nicole, Laura and Sharon Mulheron; two great grandchildren, RaeAnn Mulheron and Raymond Russell Dumont III; a sister, Rae Barney and her husband Gerald of Swanton as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was predeceased by two brothers Arthur Mulheron and Ralph Mulheron as well as three sisters, Mildred Brennan, Hazel Allen and Harriet Rocheleau.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 8, 2010, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St. Swanton. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment with military honors will take place in the spring at Riverside Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.
