ObituaryMay 7, 2003  OBITUARY: BAKERSFIELD - Margery M. Lawyer, age 86, died Sunday May 4, 2003 at Haven Health Center in St. Albans.

She was born August 27, 1916 in Fairfax the daughter of the late Elmer & Gertrude (Putnam) Hulbert.
Margery was a resident of Bakersfield most of her life and for the past 4 years had resided at Haven Health Center. She was a member of the Bakersfield Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Harmony Chapter and Martha Washington Chapter. She was employed at Locke Haven Nursing Home in Jeffersonville then at Kerbs Memorial Hospital in St. Albans for 15 years retiring in 1981. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Franklin County Home Health Agency.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Thomas "Teed" & Peg Lawyer of Bakersfield; a sister and her husband Thelma & George Stebbins of Sheldon; a brother and his wife, Carl & Laura Hulbert of Salt Springs, FL; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Lance & Sharon Lawyer of Bakersfield, and April & Tim Geddes of East Fairfield; 6 great grandchildren, Tara, Ryan, Kate, Tyler, Emily & Colby; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Darius W. "Red" Lawyer, August 14, 1991; 2 brothers, Samuel & Elmer Hulbert; 2 sisters, Inez Cota & Evelyn Facto.
In keeping with Margery's wishes she will be cremated. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Bakersfield Methodist Church with Pastor Marshall True officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 6-9 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
