ObituaryOct 18, 2011  OBITUARY: DEDHAM, Mass./BERKSHIRE, Vt. - Sandra J. Duso, 65, of Dedham, Mass., died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at the Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

The daughter of the late Walter and Marion E. (Leahy) Duso, Sandra was born on June 26, 1946, in St. Albans. She was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and the Mary Fletcher Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, where she became a Registered Nurse. She received her B.S. in rehabilitation psychology from Emmanuel College and her M.B.A. from Suffolk University both of Boston, Mass. Over the years, her healthcare career included working as a staff nurse at Mary Fletcher Hospital, Hartford Hospital, and Boston University Hospital. She was also the manager of clinical support staff for Medical Care Affiliates and the manager of Allied Health/Consumer Education for EMD Serono.

She used her health care experience, her strong interpersonal skills and her keen business sense in her roles as New England Sales Manager for Nursing Spectrum, Director of Client Strategy for the Albion Group and most recently the Community Marketing Liaison for Medical Resources Home Health Corporation. She called the Boston area her home for the last 30 years.

Sandy is survived by her longtime life partner, J. Robert McLaughlin, Ph.D; her brothers, Robert Duso of Enosburg Falls and John Duso and his wife, Perri, of South Burlington; her sister, Carolena Jaquith and her husband, Myrl, of Port St. Joe, Fla. She is also survived by Bob's daughter, Lauren McLaughlin of Sidney, Australia; and his son, Mark McLaughlin and his wife, Alena, of Barnstable, Mass; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews; and Sandy's beloved cat "Tinker."

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Beverly Duso; and a nephew, Michael Duso.

After her services in Massachusetts, a memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating.

Interment will follow in the East Berkshire Congregational Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral.

We will dearly miss Sandy's sense of adventure, zest for life, her friends, good food and good wine, the Celtics, her talent and creativity in making beautiful wedding cakes, her love of her home and passion for travel - from Egypt to Italy to Australia to Switzerland to Hawaii, and all through the United States.
