THELMA M JOHNSON
Vergennes, Thelma M Johnson, age 81, died Sunday evening June 11, 2000, at the Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

She was born Aug 2, 1918 in Franklin, the daughter of the late Henry & Martha (Johnson) Lawyer.

She was born and raised in the Franklin County area and was a resident of Vergennes most of her adult life and was employed as a seamstress at Basin Harbor. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Vergennes. She held a certificate of Indian status and citizenship of the Sovereign Abenaki Nation Republic of Missisquoi..

She is survived by her long time companion, George Wickman of Gardner, MA; two sister in laws, Mary Lawyer and Dorothy Lawyer, both of Richford; several nieces and nephews including David Lawyer and his fiancée Tonya Schultz of Bristol. She was predeceased by three brothers Warren "Merl", Reginald "Jack", and Clayton Lawyer.

A graveside service will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the East Franklin Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours
