ObituaryJan 15, 2014  OBITUARY: Roger R. Lussier, 82, of Lyndonville died peacefully Monday afternoon, January 13, 2014 at the Pine's Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 21, 1931 in East Albany, VT the son of Antonio and Georgiana (Letourneau) Lussier. On June 28, 1952, Roger married Evelyn Walker of Sheffield.

During his life, Roger was an astute businessman who undertook many endeavors including; farming, auctioneering, sales, banking and real estate. Personal interest included spending time with family and friends at the camps on Shadow Lake and Marl Pond, hunting, fishing, playing cards, casual dinners and many years piloting his own plane. He was a member of the Benton Masonic Lodge #88 of Guildhall and the Walden Club, where he enjoyed the fellowship of meeting new and old friends.

Roger valued and understood strong work ethics and the meaning of a handshake. He was a steward of the land and felt a strong connection to it as well as the people who worked it. He also admired and respected the Native American way of life.

Survivors include his wife of nearly sixty-two years, Evelyn Lussier of Lyndonville; four children, Reginald Lussier and wife Heidi of Kirby, Kathleen Pearl and husband Ronald of Lyndon, Richard Lussier and wife Virginia of Lyndon, and David Lussier and wife Lise of Lyndon; three brothers, Bert Lussier of Richford, Noel Lussier and wife Barbara of Florida and Bernie Lussier and wife Linda of Craftsbury; three sisters, Lucille Sanville of Craftsbury, Yolande Bracci of Florida and Lorraine Lussier of Hardwick; a sister in law, Bea Lussier of Berkshire; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was predeceased by his parents; his son, Steven Lussier in 2011; a brother, Laurant Lussier and a sister, Marielle Stone.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lyndonville with the Rev. Luke Austin officiating. There will be no visiting hours.

Spring committal services are planned for Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. at William-Dexter Cemetery in Sheffield.
