He was born July 5, 1916, in Ludlow, the son of Martin and Lillian (Fritchie) MacDonald.

He attended Black River Academy in Ludlow.

Mr. MacDonald was employed by the Jewel Brook Woolen Co. for several years and General Electric Co. for 26 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Africa, Italy and France as a dental technician.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Harriette (Bussino) MacDonald of North Clarendon; a daughter, Kathleen MacDonald of Durham, N.C; a brother, Raymond "Bud" MacDonald of Ludlow; a sister, Irene Bush of Coos Bay, Ore; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard MacDonald; two sisters, Virginia Jameson and Lorraine Boris.

At Mr. MacDonald's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.

A private burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home.
