| Obituary | Oct 9, 2017 | OBITUARY: Kenneth E. McDonald, 69 of Derby, Vermont passed away suddenly Friday, October 6, 2017 at his home. Kenneth was born on February 17, 1948, in Newport, VT to the late Christina Davidson and Merle McDonald. Kenneth spent his childhood years in Morgan, Vermont and his early years working for Rudy Burroughs in the woods, then with Real Desrochers driving truck. He worked thirty years for Vermont Agency of Transportation Division. He is survived by his wife, Joan L. McDonald of thirty five years and his children, Dana Kennison of Derby, Kim Dupuis and her husband Raymond of Irasburg, Tracy Costa and her husband of Dave of Island Pond, also by his grandchildren Tina Royer and husband Derek of Newport Center, Michelle Aiken and husband James of Derby Line, Amanda Hastings, of Derby, David Hicks of Michigan, Shaun Hastings of Connecticut, and Eric Dupuis and wife Sarah of Irasburg and by his great-grandchildren, Kristopher Aiken, Jayden Aiken, Henry Bean, Landen Dupuis, Noah Dupuis, Harper Dupuis, Avery Royer, Bentley Cartee and Adalynn Jones. He is also survived by sister, Connie Carpenter of Derby, brother, Dean McDonald of Barton, brother- in-law, Gary Carter of Plainfield, VT. He is predeceased by parents, brothers Reginald McDonald, Gordie McDonald, Larry McDonald and sister Shirley Carter. Ken is survived by many nieces and nephews. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport with services held by Pastor Robert Cargrill.
