ObituaryJan 12, 2006  OBITUARY: ENOSBURG - Guy A. Larivee, age 86, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 11, 2006, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with his loving family by his side.

He was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Richford, the son of the late Arthur and Bessie (Crickx) Larivee.

Guy was a resident of Enosburg Falls most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He worked as a dairy farmer until 1965 at which time he began working at Franklin County Cheese until his retirement in 1979. During his retirement he worked with his son Larry at the Enosburg Falls Country Club from 1994 to the fall of 2003. He enjoyed working in the woods, puttering with heavy equipment, working with antique engines and taking them to antique shows to show them off, and tinkering in his workshop. Along with his wife Elaine, they enjoyed traveling and camping and had the opportunity to travel around the United States and also Europe. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Elaine (Mayo) Larivee. They were married on Sept. 19, 1944. He is also survived by his children and their spouses: Larry and Mary Larivee of East Berkshire, Ronald and Sandra Larivee of Enosburg Falls, Lynette and Mark Vaillancourt of West Enosburg, Sally and Richard Delorme of Orlando, Fla., Randall and Connie Larivee of Greenwich, N.Y., Patricia and Pierre Boudreau of Enosburg, and Diane and Greg Bigby of Reno, Nev; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Gilbert of Somersworth, N.H; three brothers and their wives: Ross and Louise Larivee of Newport, Arthur and Theresa Larivee of Franklin, and David and Betty Larivee of Enosburg Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Orville and Stanley Larivee; two sisters, Cecile Longe and Freida Parent.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Benedict Kiely celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Friday evening from 6 to 9 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
