| Obituary | Dec 26, 2011 | OBITUARY: Ruth O. Cope, 92, of Madison, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon. She was born June 21, 1919, in Point Rock, N.Y., the daughter of Harry George and Belva Craver Oram. She was a registered nurse and received her nursing degree from Faxton Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Utica, N.Y. She was a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Harriette O. Parton of Madison; two sons, William Lawrence Betz of Beaufort, S.C. and Paul Wilmot Betz of Franklin, Vt; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Raymond Cope, who died in 1988; her parents; two sisters, Agnes Dashnau and Esther Conde; and one brother, William Francis Oram. A memorial service was at Hanover Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Point Rock Cemetery in Point Rock, N.Y. Published in the Madison Courier 12/28/11.2 |
