Leroy Hastins officiateing, Interment was in Brownington Cemetery Mr Allen was born April 12, 1896 in Brownington, son of Flora and Wilbur Allen. He married the late Kathleen (Lafoe) Allen. He was a retired farmer. He leaves his mother, Mrs Flora Akley of Newport; four sons, Vernon of Newport, Donald of Wellington, NH, Damen of Clinton, Mass; two daughters, Mrs. Arlene Gregoire of Glover and Mrs Ruth Goddard of Derby; three brothers, W.B. Allen and Ora Allen of Island Pond, and Dan Allen of East Charleston; a sister Mrs. Evelyn Hagaboon of Hardwick; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
