ObituaryNov 16, 2010  OBITUARY: COLCHESTER - Lucille "Lucy" Shepard, 84, died suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with her loving family at her bedside.

Lucille was born in St. Angele de Menoire, Province of Quebec, Canada on Sept. 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche (Beaulieu) Viens.

She attended Holy Angels School and graduated from the Holy Angels Business School. Lucille married Kenneth Shepard on June 28, 1947.

He predeceased her on Sept. 4, 1977. Lucille was employed at the Colchester Police Department for 11 years, and at IBM for 10 years. She loved gardening, oil-painting, and cooking.

Lucille is survived by four children, Suzanne DeAngelis and husband Roger, Kenneth Shepard, Jr. and wife Melinda, Jane Powers and husband Thomas, and Janet Manny and husband Paul; seven grandchildren, Katie DeAngelis-Hesla, Jessica Shurlow, Kenneth Powers, Michael Powers, Margaret DeAngelis, Joseph Shepard, and Emily Manny; a great-grandson, Jack Hesla; and a sister, Frankie Balch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester.

Interment will be held at the Colchester Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours.
