ObituaryMay 28, 1910  OBITUARY: Death has claimed another of our young men, Ralph Berton Chapman. Nearly five weeks before he was taken Ill in Providence, where he had left the barge Winthrop, from New Jersey and proceeded on to Boston to visit his aunt, and grew sick so fast he was sent to the Mass General Hospital where the physicians pronounced it typhoid fever. On Sunday, May 16th, he was considered on the way to recovery and all were held in hopeful spirits and we felt safe in reporting him in last week's news improving. On Monday his condition showed a change which came very suddenly, and Tuesday afternoon he sank rapidly, and his life went out. This is the first break in a family of five children, and the eldest, which comes with crushing force to his parents, who are bowed with grief over the sudden, unexpected blow. Deceased leaves a father and mother, two sisters, and two brothers and a large number of relatives who will miss him in the family circle.
