Mr. Brady was born in Berlin NH on December 22, 1916, the son of Wilbrod and Adele (Dumont) Brady.

James attended Guardian Angel School and was a graduate of Berlin High School. In 1938 he married Eleanor R. Cantell of Groveton. They moved to Jefferson in 1941. This past summer they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.

He was a pioneer in the tourism industry, starting Six Gun City, the western theme park in Jefferson, in 1957. Six Gun City celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.

Jim was an Eagle Scout, order of the Arrow, and was later a Scout Master of Troop 218 in Jefferson for over 3 decades. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping, skiing, dog sledding, fishing, and working with leather and wood. He was a Communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Jefferson.

Family members include his wife Eleanor; children Lawrence, George and wife Cynthia, Jane, Richard, James, Jr., and wife Mary Ellen, Michael, Karen, and Thomas; sister Mary Jane Durdan; grandchildren, Mark, Anne, Patrick, Christine, Richard, Jr., Sarah, Ellen, and Kerry; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Melissa and sister Grace Brady PM.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, Jefferson. The Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
