She was born September 5, 1922, in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire, a daughter of Clifford and Isabelle (Larabee) Bingham.

She married Gordon Whittier who predeceased her in 1992. In 1997 she married Deldon Grant who predeceased her on October 7, 2008.

Mrs. Grant graduated from Lyndon Normal School with a degree in teaching. She taught for the West Charleston school system and others for 40 years.

She loved to garden with her husband and daughter, and she also enjoyed feeding the birds and bird watching. She enjoyed her home and she always looked forward to family visits and organized many family visits and reunions at Gray's camp on Lake Seymour. She was extremely active making arts and crafts and enjoyed giving them away for gifts. She also had horses for many years, and she enjoyed snowmobiling to camp on Unknown Pond. She also liked to travel as she and Deldon wintered in Arizona for ten years.

Mrs. Grant will be dearly missed by her longtime friend Phyllis "Uncle Bill" Burbank.

She is survived by her children: Linda Wilkie and her husband, Bruce, of Derby Line, Duane Whittier and his wife, Teena, of Derby Line; by her grandchildren: Mathiew Whittier of Derby Line, Jenna Whittier of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Clifford Wilkie and his wife, Jennifer, of Maine; by a great-granddaughter, Olivia Mae Wilkie; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters: Evelyn Drew, Bernice Glasson, Frances Lumbra, and Alta Brown; and by her brothers Howard, Marshall, and Ralph Bingham.

Funeral services were held at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport on February19, 2011 with the Reverend Richard Whitehill officiating. Spring interment will be in the Derby Center cemetery.
