| Obituary | Oct 21, 1994 | OBITUARY: Robert Fletcher Corbitt, 86, of Route 1, died Thursday morning, Oct. 20, 1994, at the home of his sister in Pittsboro, N.C. Mr. Corbitt was born in Gates County. A retired farmer, he was the son of the late J. Richard Sr. and Mrs. Pearl Russell Corbitt. He was a member of Damascus Christian Church in Sunbury. Surviving is his sister, Sarah C. Roberts and her husband, Dave Roberts of Pittsboro; a brother, T. Russell Corbitt Sr. of Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Damascus Christian Church by the Rev. Riddick Pearce. Burial will follow in the Cross Family Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and other times at his residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Damascus Christian Church, Sunbury, N.C. 27979 or to Hospice of Chatham County, P.O. Box 1077, Pittsboro, N.C. 27312.
