ObituaryMar 28, 1982  OBITUARY: MARY WOOD SHIFLETT, 79, of Browns Cove, VA, died Saturday, March 27, 1982, at Eldercare Gardens, Charlottesville, VA. Born in Albemarle County on Sept. 26, 1902, daughter of the late Phillip and Annie Walton Wood. She was the widow of William Dewey Shiflett. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stella Creaney of Cockeysville, MD; two sons, William Dan Shiflett of Browns Cove and D.S. Shiflett of Charlottesville; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Etta Smith of Baltimore, MD, Mrs. Zelia DiPol of Gainesville, FL, and Mrs. Madie Thacker of Dundalk, MD; a brother, Mannis Wood of Charlottesville; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 38 foster children.

Funeral services at 2 p.m Tuesday at the Prize Hill Church, Boonesville, Albemarle, VA, with the Rev. Bill Adkins officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Joseph W. Teague Funeral Home.
