ObituaryJun 14, 1996  OBITUARY: CHESAPEAKE - Henry Theodore Devine Jr., 72, of the 4000 block of Ahoy Drive, died June 12, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Devine, a native of Boston, Mass., was retired from financial management planning services. He attended VPI and served in the Army during World War II and the China war. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and past president of its Pastoral Council.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hoffler Devine; two daughters, Cathy E. Hanrahan and Lori Devine Thompson, both of Chesapeake; three sons, Michael P. Devine of Portsmouth, Stephen D. Devine and Timothy M. Devine, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Patricia Gares; and 14 grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bowers Hill, by the Rev. James Gordon. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Martha Davis Cancer Center.
