Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey Applewhite, John Applewhite and Garry Applewhite, all of Chesapeake; her stepmother, Rosa Byrum of Chesapeake; a sister, Edith Burke of Allentown, Pa; a brother, Noah Byrum Jr. of Chesapeake; and six grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Mark Pullen. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
