ObituaryJul 27, 1979  OBITUARY: Mrs. Mary E. (Betty) Pomeroy, 64, a lifetime resident of the Enosburg and Alburg area for the past 22 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, July 25, 1979, in a St. Albans hospital.

She was born in Enosburg October 22, 1914, daughter of William E. and Gertrude (Cantell) Garrow. She attended schools in Enosburg and on March 29, 1941, she was married to John G. Pomeroy, who survives her.

In addition, she leaves one son, Louis J. Hill of Ocean Side, NY; one granddaughter, Lesli J. Hill of North Kansas, Missouri; three brothers, Alan Garrow of Middletown, Mass, Lynwood Garrow of California and James Garrow of Enosburg Falls; one sister, Mrs. Doris Itzstein of Enosburg Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 29, 1979, at 4 p.m. at the Kidder Memorial Home at 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Interment will follow in the family lot, Alburg Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home on Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Mrs. Pomeroy’s memory may be made to the Alburg Fire Department and Rescue Squad Inc. in care of James Frick.
