ObituaryJan 23, 2008  OBITUARY: Victor Batchelder Sherman, 88, of Epping NH, died on January 17, 2008, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood NH. He was born on April 5, 1919, in St. Johnsbury VT, the son of the late Victor J. and Dorothy (Pennimen) Sherman.

Victor grew up in the Manchester NH area and was a decorated WW II veteran of the U.S. Army. Following the war he moved to Epping NH where he resided for most of his life. Victor was employed for many years at the Texaco Service Station in Raymond NH and was also employed for 6 years at the Yankee Greyhound Racing Track in Seabrook NH as a security officer before retiring.

He was a member of the American Legion Richard A. Mitchell Post 51 in Epping. An avid outdoorsman, Victor enjoyed many activities including hunting, fishing, and clamming.

He is survived by his sons Thomas Sherman of Hampton NH, and Donald Sherman of Darnes-
town MD; daughter Elaine Collins of Epping; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Benjamin Sherman of Hooksett NH and Phillip Sherman of Georgia; sister Celesta Stavrou of Taunton MA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
