ObituaryDec 16, 2001  OBITUARY: TEMPLETON -- Edwidge A. "Edna'' (DesBois) Smith, 94, of 369A State Road in the Otter River section, a former upholsterer, died Saturday, Dec. 15, in Baldwinville Nursing Home after a short illness.

Her husband of 54 years, Arthur J. Smith, died in 1984. She leaves three daughters, Shirley L. Murray of Winchendon and Janice M. Duplessis and Sally A. Frisch, both of Otter River; a sister, Loretta M. (Conti) Davidowicz of Grafton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Ernest, Edmond and Edward DesBois, and three sisters, Lena Lucier, Viola Petitti and Cecile Yakuben, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph T. and Exilda (Roy) DesBois.

Mrs. Smith worked several years as an upholsterer for Juvenile Furniture of Gardner, retiring in 1969. Previously, she worked as a sander for Temple Stuart Co., Baldwinville. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church of Baldwinville, the Firemen's Auxiliary and the Templeton Golden Agers. She was a member and past president of the Catholic Women's Club.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 18, from Boucher Funeral Home, 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Templeton Rescue Squad, PO Box 4, Baldwinville, MA 01436, or to the Baldwinville Nursing Home Activity Fund, 51 Hospital road, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
