ObituaryNov 27, 2015  OBITUARY: Eliza Ann Crowninshield, 86, a former longtime resident of Jamaica died Thursday morning, November 26, 2015 at the Thompson House Nursing Home where she had been a resident since June of 2006.

Mrs. Crowninshield was born in Townshend on January 5, 1929 the daughter of Timothy and Ella (Derry) Allbee. She was raised and educated in Townshend and was a graduate of Leland & Gray Seminary.

She had been employed as a seamstress for the Mary Meyer Toy Company in Townshend where she retired from following many years of faithful service with the company. Previously she worked at Grace Cottage Hospital.

A dedicated homemaker, her life revolved around her family who she enjoyed spending time with. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking. She was also known for her strong work ethic.

In Townshend she was married to Bernard Crowninshield who predeceased her on October 19, 1993.

Mrs. Crowninshild is survived by one son, Thomas Crowninshield of Brattleboro, a special son-in-law, Robert Litchfield of Newfane, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great- great grandson and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Janice Litchfield who passed away on May 14, 2006, one brother, Earl Allbee, and two sisters, Marguerite Marcott and Marie Brown.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be conducted Saturday, December 5th at 11:00 A.M. at the Jamaica Community Church. A reception will follow the services in the church reception hall.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Pleasant View Cemetery in Jamaica.
