ObituaryDec 10, 1991  OBITUARY: FRANKLIN, VT – Harland W. Garrow, 83, died Monday morning, Dec. 9, 1991, in Holiday House in St. Albans, VT, following a long illness.

He was born in Enosburg on Feb. 9, 1908, the son of the late Henry and Leona (Comstock) Garrow.

Mr. Garrow was a resident of Franklin and Enosburg for most of his life and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He owned and operated a farm in Enosburg for 30 years, and was a milk hauler for United Farmers. He also hauled cheese and sawdust, retiring in 1974.

Mr. Garrow drove school bus in Franklin for several years. He was a past member of Pike River Grange in West Berkshire, and a member of Franklin Senior Citizens and Sheldon Grange 510.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy (Magnant) Garrow; six daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Leona) Ellis of Fair Haven, Mrs. Antoinette Dragon of Highgate Center, Mrs. Thersa Langals of Winooski, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Brightly of Hudson, N.Y., Mrs. Gerald (Betty) Wedge of Franklin, and Mrs. Raymond (Pauline) Myott of Enosburg Falls; two step-daughters, Janet Magnant of Franklin and Mrs. Lawrence (Betty Ann) Wright of Milton; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Larose of Enosburg and Mrs. Hilda Messler of Newport; 41 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Paul Garrow, and a daughter, Barbara McClarren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 13, 1991, at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Paul St. James and Rev. Bernard Bechard celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at Spears Funeral Home on Dickinson Avenue in Enosburg on Thursday, Dec. 12, 1991, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Father St. James will say prayers at 8 p.m. For those who wish, contributions in his memory may be made to Franklin Ambulance Service, Franklin, VT 05457, or Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.
