Chronological Events

Birth*Apr 11, 1775 Desire Freeman was born on Apr 11, 1775 at Brewster, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States.4
She was the daughter of Lemuel Freeman and Mary Doane
Name VariationApr 11, 1775 Desire was also known as Desiah Freeman.

Census1850  Desire Freeman appeared on the census of 1850. Desire (Freeman) Snow was found living with brother-in-law, John Snow, his wife, Abiel (Pepper) Snow, and their children in Brewster, Massachusetts in the 1850 US Census. This family lived next door to Freeman Snow, his wife Sally (Myrick) Snow, and their children.5
Census*1860  Desire Freeman appeared on the census of 1860 at Brewster, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. Sally Snow (age 56) resided in Brewster and was head of household, living with daughter, Amanda, now a school teacher (age 21), son Joseph W. (age 19) and snow a Mariner, and mother-in-law, Desire Snow (Desire is spelled "Desiah" possibly indicating that Massachusetts accent was formed by this time). Next door lived Abiel Snow (age 78). On the other side of Sally Snow lived Sally's son Reuben F. Snow (age 27), now a farmer, his wife Margaret A. (age 20), and their son, Osborne S. (age 1). There are also several "Hopkins" on the same street, and I wonder if these are relations of Sally's mother, Lydia Hopkins.6
