"JOHN SNOW, son of Reuben, and Reliance Snow was born in Harwich, Massachusetts on 22 March 1778, baptized on 28 April 1778, and died in Brewster on 4 February 1856. On 3 April 1803 he married ABIAL PEPPER # 656, Who was born at Eastham, Massachussetts on 28 March 1863. She was the daughter of Solomon Pepper and his second wife Phebe Walker Knowles. See #652 for her descent from Robert Pepper. John Snow resided in Brewster in a house still standing in the summer of 1919, but later torn down. In 1919 it was visited by Mr. Rollin B. Andrews and Mrs. Walter B. Hitchcock, both descendants; and uncle and mother of Captain Russell Snow Hitchcock, U.S. Navy. The house stood on Sheep Pond about a mile from the center of the town and not far from the rail road station. In 1919 there were two old vacant houses nearby in a humbled down condition". Reliance was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 22 October 1806, died at Truro, Massachusetts on 13 August 1, 1874, and Solomon Pepper was born at Brewster on 10 August 1811, and died on 17 December 1886 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He married Sally Snow on 7 November 1834. She died on 30 September 1836. He married Maria Pratt on 18 November 1839. She died on 19 August 1874. There were seven children; one from his first wife and six from his second.

Reuben was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 22 December 1813, and died on 18 May 1882 in Danielson, Connecticut. His first wife was from Copenhagen, Denmark. She died in America shortly after they arrived. He had one child from his first wife and two children from his second wife Martha.

Phebe Ann was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 10 March 1815, died on 16 May 1890 in Rockville, Connecticut. She married Elisha Smith of Erving, Massachusetts on 12 June 1839. They had no children.

Joshua was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 10 June 1816 and died on 26 November 1816.

Joshua was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 7 September 1817, and died on 14 March 1884 in Petaluma, California. He married Lucy E. Holton and they had one child. Joshua went to California in 1849 while crossing the Isthmus of Panama.

Abial was born in Brewster, Massachusetts and died on 16 November 1821.

John was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 7 February 1823, and died on 28 March 1903 in Fort Providence, Rhode Island. He married Maria Whitcombe and they had one child.

MARY JANE #539 was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 25 September 1824, and died on 30 March 1901.
She married Rev. Otis W. Bacon and after his death she married HEZEKIAH ANDREWS #378.

Joseph was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 11 August 1826 and he died abt 1902 in Danielson, Connecticut. His first wife was Ellen Day and his second wife was Ella.

"MARY JANE SNOW #539 , daughter of John Snow and Abial Snow was born in Brewster, Massachusetts on 25 December 1824 and died at 90 Blossom St., Pitchburg, Massachusetts on 30 March 1901. She was born in the John Snow house described above under John Snow. She taught school in Brewster. She married the Rev. Otis W. Bacon when she was 22 years old. She was visiting her sister Phebe Ann Smith in Erving, Massachusetts when she heard the Rev. Bacon preach at a church in Orange. They fell in love and were married and he became pastor in a church in Brewster. He died there of pneumonia at the age of 26 and he was buried there. He was born in Conway, Massachusetts".

"On 12 January 1850 Mary Jane Married HEZEKIAH ANDREWS #378, who was born on 26 May 1822 and died in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on 26 May 1895. Mary Jane Snow was a remarkable woman. She was extremely active and had excellent business ability and was a real help to her husband in his store in Conway. After his death in Fitchburg, she maintained the home at 90 Blossom St. living there with her unmarried sister-in-law Cynthia Olivia Andrews." Hitchcock, Russell, Snow--pg 130
