ObituaryOct 26, 1999  OBITUARY: MARVEL ELIZABETH GIBBY, 82 of Salem, OR, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999. She was born in LaPine and moved to Roseburg in 1920 and to the Woodburn area in 1924. She graduated from Woodburn High School. She married Chester in 1937 and he died in 1990. She was a certified medication aide in Dallas and lived in Dallas for 40 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed camping, fishing, rock collecting, gardening and needlework.

Survivors include her son, Lyle of Salem; daughters, Joy Dull of Salem and Barbara Smith of Forest Grove; brothers, Theodore and Lester Hill, both of Albany; sister, Noma Olson of Silverton; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visiting will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in Bollman Funeral Home in Dallas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the mortuary. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Contributions: American Diabetes Association, care of the mortuary.
